Erika Dinkel-Smith is the Assistant Political and Legislative Director, tasked with building the IATSE’s political profile and representing IATSE members in Washington, D.C.
Since starting with the IATSE in April of 2016, Erika has helped develop the IATSE’s political activism. During the 2016 Presidential Election, the IATSE was established as one of the top 10 most politically active labor unions in the AFL-CIO as part of their post-election statistics.
After graduating with a degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, Erika worked as an union organizer and a political organizer in the mid-west and was active in fighting the anti-union measures in Wisconsin. She leads an active life running between meetings in downtown D.C. and mountain biking with her dogs.
