Newfoundland Riggers Score Representation!

IATSE Canada logo

Production Rigging Inc. has inked a deal with IATSE Local 709 in St. John’s.  Local 709 was chartered in 2013 as a mixed film and stage local, but has worked exclusively in film since that time.  This agreement marks the first stage agreement for the local.  Production Rigging supplies stagehands for Mile One Arena and other venues throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

In traditional Newfoundland style, the negotiation was open and friendly, and in a phrase not often used about the bargaining table, “a good time was had by all.”  The stagehands are looking forward to working under a collective agreement for the first time in their working careers.
