IATSE Organizes “Doonby”

IA President Short Appoints Safety Chairman

Smithville, TX — Organizers from Locals 484, 600 and the IATSE successfully obtained an agreement with the low-budget motion picture, “Doonby.”

After organizers from the IATSE met with producers and offered proposals, the production company failed to honor the mutually agreed upon deadline.  More than 90% of the crew struck the production for a day. An all-night bargaining session culminated in an agreement.  The agreement calls for benefit contributions, overtime, better working conditions, and additional industry standard conditions. International Representative Jamie Fry, along with Local 484 Business Manager, Stephen Beasley and Local 600 Business Rep, Jack Nealy, led the efforts for representation.
