TSL Employees Ratify New Contract

IA President Short Appoints Safety Chairman

TSL CGI employees overwhelmingly ratified the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the IATSE and The Secret Lab, a unit of Walt Disney Pictures and Television, it was announced by International President Thomas C. Short. The agreement, which covers work performed by digital animators, compositors and technical directors who work on Disney 3-D animated feature films, runs from March 22, 2004 to September 31, 2006.

The TSL collective bargaining agreement was initially negotiated in 1999 to cover digital compositing and digital animation in live-action visual effects and animated feature films. The new terms of the contract, which include improvements in wage minimums and pension and health benefits, will be retroactive to October 1, 2003. The original expiration date of the agreement was extended while talks took place.
