Vice Presidential Debate Main Take-away

IATSE General Board Endorses Obama 2nd Term

The Vice Presidential debate on Tuesday night left no doubt who will stand up for American families. Tim Kaine did exactly what a vice presidential running mate was supposed to do. He was able to articulate Hillary Clinton’s detailed plans and called out Trump’s dangerous policies. Kaine also repeatedly called on Mike Pence to account for Trump’s inflammatory statements: “If you want to have a society where people are respected and respect laws, you can’t have somebody at the top who demeans every group that he talks about.”

Unable to defend his running mate’s racist and sexist statements, Pence perpetuated a revisionist history of Donald Trump’s discriminatory statements and repeatedly lied to deny direct quotes. Pence’s flagrant dishonesty in contrast with Time Kaine’s commitment to the issues that impact working families further proves that we are stronger together voting for the Clinton/Kaine ticket.
